Benefiting from experiences or expanding on a topic together: experts from across Europe met at the Contact Seminar in Tallinn to discuss cooperation within the framework of Erasmus+

Digital school is a reality: teachers from all over Europe are being faced with similar challenges but are reacting to them in different ways. A good enough reason to share their own experiences and ideas, to reflect together and, based on that, to carry out innovative new plans. The Contact Seminar of 17.-20.9.2017 in Tallinn offered an opportunity for exchange. There, teachers, people involved at various levels of education and experts from the field of digital technologies got together for the purpose of widening their network and planning future cooperation projects within the framework of Erasmus+, the European Union programme for education. It’s no coincidence they were invited to Estonia, a highly technologised country where they already vote electronically and any communication with the State takes place by digital means. Inspired by the startup-friendly environment, numerous outline projects emerged from the gathering of more than 70 participants from 21 European countries:

  • Exchange of digital learning materials to develop the social skills of school pupils
  • Analysis of the effect of the use of digital media in the classroom
  • Development of a learning game for individualised, integrated teaching
  • Exchange project between primary school classes using digital platforms

Swiss participants were also there at the Contact Seminar. Roger Mäder, from the imedias advice centre of the Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz (FHNW), benefited from the exchange with the Estonian office for the promotion of ICT in education and established contacts with partners for a future job-shadowing project.
