The interest in exchange and mobility continues to grow, and despite the pandemic, projects are once again being implemented with a great deal of commitment, as the figures for 2021 already show. Additional institutions across all levels of education applied for a project for the first time and offered mobilities as part of their studies. There is also great interest in individual and group mobilities in compulsory education, with 13 projects involving 292 student mobilities, which were funded for the first time. Our Mobility Monitoring also shows that physical mobility continues to be preferred over virtual mobility, and will continue to be so in the future. These elements give cause for optimism: Movetia expects that the numbers will continue to rise and that more and more young people will be able to benefit from a unique and valuable exchange experience.
For the 2022 call, the Swiss Erasmus+ programme again has more funding available than in the previous year (2021: CHF 37‘550‘000.-). The Swiss Parliament has already approved this as part of its "Dispatch on the Promotion of Education, Research and Innovation 2021-24", irrespective of the association status with the European education programme Erasmus+. This means that exchange and mobility can continue to grow in 2022! With the current call for projects in 2022, Movetia invites education stakeholders to submit their projects in March or October 2022.
Learning mobility for individuals | Funding for 2022 |
School education | CHF 2'900'000 |
Training | CHF 7'500'000 |
Tertiary level | CHF 27'600'000 |
Adult education | CHF 400'000 |
Youth | CHF 1'700'000 |
Total | CHF 40‘100‘000 |
The funding is awarded in lump sums and is granted on the basis of specific activities. A wide range of activities for a broad target audience is eligible in the mobility projects:
The mobility projects can be carried out with partners from the 27 EU Member States, the United Kingdom, the EFTA/EEA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway as well as Turkey, Serbia and Northern Macedonia. Youth work may involve cooperation with other partner countries in addition to this list.
In line with Erasmus+, Movetia is oriented towards the thematic priorities of the European programme generation 2021-2027 across all education levels. The transversal themes of "Inclusion and Diversity", "Green mobility", "Digital Education" and "Democratic Participation" should be integrated into the various projects.
Movetia supports inclusive projects by means of additional funding for people with special needs and aims to raise awareness with tips for more environmentally friendly mobility.
There are innovations in individual education sectors compared to the 2021 call for projects that expand the project content and simplify project submission.
Vocational education: The minimum mobility period for apprentices and apprenticeship graduates is reduced from a minimum of 12 days to 5 days and applies to both company placements and thematic project work.
Youth in action: The entire application process was revised and grants were simplified. The project start date for approved project proposals of the first deadline is now 1 June 2022.
We are at your disposal for individual consultations. You can contact us via E-Mail. All information about the Swiss Erasmus+ programme and inspiring project examples can be found on our website.
On 26 January 2022, Team Movetia will gladly answer your questions about mobility projects at the project lounge. Reserve a consultation appointment in Bern or virtually.
We support preparatory visits prior to application submission with lump sums of CHF 800/person. The grants must be applied for at least 1 month prior to the visit and make it possible to visit future European project partners, establish contacts and prepare projects.
In addition to the call for European mobilities, there are also calls for international cooperation (for all educational sectors).
There are several deadlines for submitting a project proposal each year.
