The annual workshops focused on the current funding programmes for higher education mobility and cooperation projects. New staff at International Relations Offices had the opportunity to obtain first-hand information, ask questions and get to know their contacts at Movetia.

Movetia organised two workshops in German and one in French to present its broad range of opportunities for mobility and cooperation activities to new employees working in Internal Relations Offices whose day-to-day jobs involve planning and supervising mobilities  of students and staff. The programmes include the Swiss-European Mobility Programme SEMP, the Erasmus+ cooperation projects for innovation and the new 2018-2020 international programme for worldwide mobility and cooperation.

The core mobility programme for higher education is SEMP. At the workshops, topics like the political context of SEMP in relation to the European education programme Erasmus+, when and under which conditions mobility projects can be supported, how a cooperation project is planned and with which countries outside Europe cooperation projects can now be organised were presented and discussed.

Effective communication between Movetia and the International Relations Offices of Universities, Universities of Applied Sciences, Universities of Teacher Education and Colleges of Higher Education is crucial to institutional cooperation and helps ensure successful joint implementation of programmes.

Representatives from the following institutions attended the three workshops held in Geneva and Solothurn:
