Christophe Bettin opened by presenting the latest funding figures and objectives of Movetia and the most important information about the development of the international mobility programmes in vocational education and training. The project process and innovations around implementation of the projects were presented in order to improve understanding and ensure smooth-running project implementation. Next, three project promoters were given the opportunity to speak. With the presentation of their projects and inclusion of the learners (apprentices/VET trainees) and recent VET graduates, they demonstrated the diverse nature of the projects.
Afterwards, the presentation of supporting measures revealed a new and straightforward form of funding. By offering this, Movetia is responding to existing needs and is pleased to provide, in addition, financial support for various measures, such as setting up a coordinating structure, communication products, setting up international networks and organising international network events.
Another innovation is “Realto”, the digital learning platform for integrated vocational education and training. Dr. Catharine Oertel of the EPFL presented the potential of the virtual exchange of learning and experience between learners and training providers. With the exchange platform, project promoters are in direct contact with their mobility participants. Mobility reports can be enhanced with photographs, videos and audio and, thus, also serve as a source of inspiration for new projects. Furthermore, mobility participants can share information and ideas with each other.
In an exploratory phase until 2020, Movetia is making the platform available for all project promoters to use, if they need to, on request.
Before the stand-up buffet lunch with invitation to network, reference was made to various communication channels and measures. The Radio Day of Vocational Education and Training held on 8th May was called to mind and the video competition for mobility participants was presented. This competition focuses attention on the learners’ experiences. Apart from the creative task within the framework of the mobility project, attractive prizes also make participation worthwhile.
Thank you for the commitment of everyone who attended and we look forward to the successful implementation of the approved mobility projects.
