How can youth work contribute to a democratic, socially conscious and fair Europe for all young people? Some 400 specialist workers from all over Europe discussed this question at the professional programme europe@DJHT during the 16th German Child and Youth Welfare Congress (DJHT), which took place from 28th till 30th March 2017 in Düsseldorf.

Movetia co-financed the participation of eight people from the youth work sector in Switzerland, including a delegation from the okaj Zürich (cantonal promotion of children and young people). The DJHT gave a comprehensive and inspiring insight into youth work and various current topics. The participants were impressed with how their German colleagues apply themselves to subjects such as digitalisation, working with refugees or the topic of gender and sexual diversity in youth work. Likewise, the exchange of views and experiences with youth workers from other countries was also very rewarding.
