Via intensive programmes (IP), Swiss universities can network internationally, try out initial partnerships with new partners and strengthen and further develop existing partnerships. Long-term partnerships between institutions and a framework for longer-term study mobility should develop from successful short courses.
Cooperation in international groups is paramount for the IP. Students, professors and university staff benefit from special learning and teaching conditions here, which an institution cannot offer alone. Those taking part highlight the topic to be dealt with from new perspectives. Professionals have the opportunity to exchange experiences about teaching content and new curriculum approaches and to test new teaching methods in an international classroom.
The project should generate added value for the institution itself as well as for the Swiss education system, and should correspond with the internationalisation strategy of the institutions taking part. The intensive programme applied for should be innovative and balanced in terms of content, for example, with regard to the learning opportunities or method, access to information, development of competence or its interdisciplinary nature. The planned place of execution for the IP must be in Switzerland or in a country taking part in the IP.
Intensive programmes are carried out between a Swiss higher education institutions and an institution or organisation outside Europe. The consortium defines the options for participation for professors and students (requirements, application, time periods) and is responsible for selecting those taking part.
Professors, researchers, lecturers and university staff at Swiss higher education institutions are entitled to apply.
The applications are submitted directly to the national agency Movetia. It is also recommended to give notice regarding the project proposal to the responsible for international relations at your higher education institution (IRO).
