Strategic partnerships are an Erasmus+ project format. They enable institutions in school education, vocational education and training, higher education, adult education, and extracurricular youth work to cooperate with partners from Europe. The partnerships foster the development of innovative approaches to education and the exchange of knowledge and experience in international networks. This benefits Switzerland’s educational landscape.
Two project types are supported (Erasmus+ programme guide):
Strategic partnerships supporting innovation
These partnerships focus on the development and dissemination of innovative products, such as approaches to teaching, methods and instruments. The products are referred to as intellectual outputs.
These types of projects are open to all education levels and extracurricular youth work. Cross-sectoral projects are also possible.
Strategic partnerships supporting the exchange of good practices
These types of projects promote the exchange of ideas, methods and practices; develop and reinforce networks; and increase the capacity of institutions to operate at transnational level.
These types of projects are open to institutions in school education, vocational education and training, adult education and youth work. Cross-sectoral projects between these areas are also possible.
For the format “Transnational youth initiatives” the same conditions apply as for Strategic partnerships for the exchange of good practices. The distinctive feature of this format of Strategic Partnerships is that a Youth Initiative is initiated, set up and carried out by young people themselves.
