With digital tandems into other worlds
Bridging the geographical – and cultural – distance between partner schools is one of the objectives of the “e-tandem@imedias” mobility project, in which teachers from Switzerland, Montenegro, Poland and Portugal are taking part. It is being carried out by the Counselling Service Digital Media in School and Teaching – imedias of the Institute of Counselling and Continuing Professional Development at the School of Education (teacher training institute) FHNW (University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Northwestern Switzerland). Seven Swiss primary and secondary school teachers are network-linked with a counterpart in another European country. The purpose of this, as summed up by Joint Project Manager Roger Mäder, is “to learn from each other, improve their language and intercultural skills and to make sensible use of digital media with the classes”.
The report on the project explains in more detail how and why teachers from Ueken to Warsaw, or even further afield, are exchanging with and learning from each other.

Movetia supports learning mobilities
The “e-tandem@imedias” project receives financial support from Movetia within the framework of the Swiss Programme for Erasmus+. Movetia, the Swiss agency for exchange and mobility, funds mobility projects in the field of school education that serve the transnational continuing professional education and training of Swiss teachers and help to strengthen their language and intercultural skills. This contributes to the development of quality in the Swiss education system. Schools or educational institutions that coordinate schools can develop their own projects and apply for funding from Movetia.
