The Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET) has signed an agreement with Movetia. The aim of this agreement is to intensify cooperation in the area of mobility in VET.

With the aim of encouraging greater internationalisation and integration of exchange and mobility programmes within the VET sector, the Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET) and Movetia have decided to pool their resources together for the purpose of jointly developing and sharing knowledge and skills relating to exchange and mobility in VET. One of the objectives of this strategic partnership will be to raise the profile of various forms of mobility within the Swiss VET sector.

A total of five areas of cooperation are planned. For example, SFIVET and Movetia will work together to further develop information sharing and cooperation activities with partners in Switzerland and abroad in the area of mobility in VET. There are also plans for SFIVET to use its expertise to help Movetia to develop and implement international (outside of Europe) mobility projects for learners, university students and VET actors. In addition, SFIVET intends to expand its range of mobility options for VET actors enrolled in its basic and continuing training courses, enabling them to spend time abroad during their training and expand their expertise in a different working context. A similar approach is taken with the current mobility options for university students who wish to do a semester or an internship abroad. SFIVET also encourages the mobility of teaching staff to spend a limited period of time working at a European partner institution of their home university.

This mobility option is also open to academic and administrative university staff, allowing them to spend a limited amount of time in another European country for training purposes.
